Jenna confronts her sister-in-law Alina after her son claims he saw her leaving the hospital with a baby. Alina reveals that Nolan had held her daughter, Sophie, while grieving Maisie.
But Jenna soon discovers Nolan had hidden something even more painful: he had held their daughter after her death but never told Jenna she could have said goodbye, too.
Heartbroken by his decision, Jenna struggles to forgive him. Eventually, the family begins grieving together, keeping Maisie’s memory alive through her tiny footprints and the gray rabbit Cody chose for her.
Sometimes, the deepest pain comes not only from loss, but from the goodbyes we never got to say.
